Pros:

• Corrosion resistance combined with aesthetics.
• A varied choice of colours.

Cons:

• Constitutes an additional cost; stainless steel is often a good alternative to painted steel in terms of cost.
• The result is that there is a layer, which, once breached by e.g. a scratch, loses its resistance to corrosion locally
