Plasma keyhole welding installation

Our sister company Deprest recently added a plasma keyhole welding installation to its equipment.

In plasma keyhole welding, instead of being bevelled, the plates are tightly clamped together. Quite simply put, the material is fused together, as it were, at a very high temperature. The process is suitable for welding together plates or tubes up to 8 mm.

Plasma keyhole welding involves a high-speed plasma jet and produces a very good weld quality with a deep weld fill and little chance of weld defects, provided that the pieces to weld fit nicely together.

This also means great added value for Alinco (or other colleagues nearby), especially when it comes to welding flat welds for plates that are no longer available in standard format, e.g. for a 2.5 x 2.5m drip pan.

The first projects have already been outsourced to Deprest; the result is a beautiful, flat weld which is not or hardly deformed.
